Quarterly industry results from the MIA
The latest Meetings Industry Association (MIA) Pathfinder Report indicates the industry is still on the road to recovery with only a small proportion of respondents reporting increases in meetings and events spend.
The report, commissioned every quarter by the MIA, collates feedback from a cross section of the meetings and events industry including corporate buyers, venue finders, event agencies and destinations along with venues and other event suppliers.
Detailing trends in buyer and supplier behaviours the overriding message is one of caution based on slow growth and the ongoing challenge of improving and increasing yields. But it’s not all bad news with a high percentage of venues continuing to invest significantly in their facilities in 2010 as well as key sectors such as Financial and Professional Services showing early signs of recovery.
If you would like to read more about these key findings the Pathfinder Report is free to MIA members and can be purchased by non-members from the MIA directly on 0845 230 5508.
