PRCA launches first Travel and Tourism Group
The Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) has announced Robert Wright, Managing Director of Davies Tanner, as the first Chair of its newly created Travel and Tourism Group.
With the support of Vice Chairman Rachel O’Connor, from Siren PR, the group is looking to support PRCA members who work within the Travel and Tourism sector. “Our aim is to provide a platform for members within this hugely important industry sector to meet and discuss common issues, share best practice and gain access to high profile communicators within the industry” commented Robert Wright.
Wright has already secured Visit London’s Director of Communications, Ken Kelling, as guest speaker for the group’s first meeting on 22nd October. Kelling will discuss PR plans for London 2012 in the lead up to the Olympic Games.
The PRCA’s Natasha Woolsey commented “The travel and tourism industry is a hugely important sector to the PR industry. With communication now playing a far more significant role within the industry, we felt it was important to acknowledge this with the formation of a dedicated group. With strong travel and tourism backgrounds, and fantastic stakeholder relations, both Robert and Rachel are perfectly placed to head up the group”.
