Client stories

Our clients are busy promoting themselves and launching new ideas and initiatives, and as always Davies Tanner is at the heart of things to ensure they gain the widest exposure possible.
Ackergill Tower hosts The World
The World is the largest privately owned residential yacht and for the first time in its sailing history docked in Wick Bay close to Ackergill Tower, the flagship property of the Amazing Retreats portfolio of 12 diverse and inspirational exclusive use properties.
Choosing only the most exclusive destinations for their 150 on board residents, The World guests experienced traditional Highland games and feast with the backdrop of the exclusive remote fifteenth century highland castle, putting Ackergill Tower and the Highlands firmly on the map as THE place to visit.
A number of Scottish media attended the event with great TV coverage seen on STV and BBC Scotland and print coverage in The Scotsman, The Glasgow Herald and Aberdeen Press & Journal.
Davies Tanner launches the Essex Discovery Coast
It’s a little known fact that Essex has 350 miles of coastline and in celebration of this Davies Tanner decided that this shoreline needed to be recognised with its own identity. A quick brainstorm later, and the Discovery Coast was born.
The brand itself has been rapidly gathering momentum with members of the tourism body adopting the logo in their own marketing of the coast.
To kick off the new brand, Davies Tanner created the longest art gallery from Friday 17th – Sunday 19th June which saw pop-up art exhibitions take place at locations along the coast including Leigh on Sea, Brightlingsea, West Mersea and Jaywick.
The Saturday Telegraph recommended the exhibition as one of its inspiring short break ideas while regional Essex media ran in-depth editorials and news stories on the branding of the Essex coast. BBC Essex and the Dave Monk show in particular covered the story in a series of news bulletins throughout the day, in addition to conducting interviews about the hidden gems of Essex.
So far the campaign has achieved an AVE of £42,350. With the number of press trips being organised to highlight the USP’s of the Discovery Coast, this figure is expected to grow further still.
The Hydro unveiled
Last month, the SECC unveiled ‘The Hydro’, the exciting new development that will confirm the SECC campus as one of the most complete events and entertainment spaces on the planet.
In a packed press briefing in Glasgow, the SECC, alongside title sponsor Scottish Energy unveiled the vision for Scotland’s new national arena, set to be one of the most popular music venues in Europe and adding to the already iconic Clyde Auditorium conference centre (The Armadillo) and the onsite exhibition halls.
The great and the good of Glasgow were well represented; The Hydro will become an integral part of the 2014 Commonwealth Games taking place within the city and the anticipation for new build has reached new heights. Around 100 stakeholders, partners and media were given a unique preview of the arena, and treated to live music from up and coming indie band the Frightened Rabbit.
These are exciting times for the city of Glasgow and our friends at the SECC; we’re already looking forward to opening The Hydro in 2013.
