Market update

The highs of Edinburgh’s festivals might be over for another year but there’s plenty more for us in the Scottish tourism industry to be excited about.
This month sees the arrival of 6,000 delegates from over 50 countries take to the Scottish Highlands for the first Adventure Travel World Summit to be hosted here in the UK. Macdonald Aviemore Resort will be the backdrop for the annual global gathering of adventure tourism professionals, an event hosted by VisitScotland in partnership with the Cairngorms National Park, that is hoped will further cement Scotland as Europe’s adventure capital.
On top of which, there’s more good news with VisitScotland recently announcing that Scotland's business tourism market is booming with a record income from Europe boosting Scotland's economy following enquiries handled at last year’s EIBTM, a major international trade show. Despite the challenges that have faced the tourism industry this year from air strikes to volcanic ash clouds, it would appear a number of Scottish businesses are showing resilience and confidence.
So far 18 partner organisations including the SECC will join the Scotland stand at EIBTM in Barcelona at the end of November, hoping to attract new business from Europe and North America. The Davies Tanner team will be there supporting our many clients at the show.
