Every Thursday since March 2018, I have been working for the amazing team at davies tanner, and I can honestly say that instead of looking forward to Fridays every week, I have been looking forward to Thursdays. Over the last 4 months I have developed so many different skills and so much knowledge within PR and marketing, and it’s all thanks to the wonderful, friendly team at davies tanner.
When I started I was immediately put at ease after figuring out how to get into the building. The team made me feel so comfortable and relaxed, and I was encouraged to ask as many questions as I wanted even if they were wacky ones, I knew that I could be myself straight away. davies tanner cares a lot about individuality and creativeness, and I learnt that whatever wacky ideas that came to mind I should speak up.
On my first day I was shown to my desk by my amazing mentor Nicole who I have worked alongside throughout my work experience. I could not have asked for a nicer, more helpful mentor. Nicole has helped me not only to develop my skills but has also helped me develop my skills as a person in the working world. The davies tanner team always have a smile on their faces and it is always a brilliant atmosphere in the office. You can’t say this a lot about company’s these days, but the team really are the sunshine on a rainy day.
An explanation was made for each impressive client whom they work for and this list blew me away. Every week I was given a well-planned out timetable which included many exciting tasks. It was clear that a lot of consideration, effort, preparation and planning had been put into my work experience, which showed that davies tanner really wanted me to gain some good experience during my time with them.
Over the months I got involved with many important tasks such as writing my own news bulletins, blogs and press releases, conducting exciting research tasks, sitting in on client meetings and I even got the chance to complete social media plans for a few of the company’s many amazing clients, which was very rewarding when I saw that my plans had been posted on some of the client’s social media accounts. There was also a strong wedding theme throughout, which I was very thankful for as I love weddings and I have always wanted to learn more about events management and PR for weddings.
Overall my time at davies tanner has been a blast! I couldn’t have asked to work with a better team of people, who are incredibly devoted hard workers, and I am so happy with the achievements that I have made.
davies tanner has a great work hard and play hard approach. The team are extremely hard working, but they are also fun and light-hearted as well. I will miss working at davies tanner and will miss working alongside Nicole and the rest of the team just as much!
