I was filled with a mixture of excitement and nerves as I approached the office to begin my first day’s work experience at davies tanner.

My inability to work out how to actually get into the building was the first challenge I faced which in fact turned out to be completely self-explanatory. After finally making it in I received a very warm welcome from the whole team which immediately put me at ease.

I was shown to my desk and given my timetable which was filled with interesting tasks and experiences to help me gain knowledge of the company and clients.

I also noticed it featured a pizza lunch day and Friday fizz which suggested to me that davies tanner had a great team ethos, and work hard play hard approach. I instantly knew it would be an enjoyable two weeks.

I was taken through their impressive list of clients and given examples of jobs they carry out on their behalf. I was then briefed on the tasks ahead. There was a strong event theme throughout, which I really appreciated having just finished my second year of an Events Management degree. I could see this would give me a great opportunity to learn more about both events management, PR and there corresponding links in the real world.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in creative ‘brainstorming’ for various launch parties and events, undertaking research into future event trends across the globe, and also being invited to listen in on various conference calls which I found fascinating.

Throughout my work experience I was involved in the creation of media lists, social media plans and putting together coverage reports, press releases and bulletins for a variety of amazing clients.

I have had the most enjoyable and enriching two weeks work experience, I feel I have learnt and developed so many new skills.

I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity I was given, and how incredible the team were in every aspect. I will thoroughly miss them all.
